How to Teleburn an NFT to Bitcoin Ordinals

Teleburning your Ethereum NFT to Bitcoin is super easy and quick! Migrate your NFT to Bitcoin where it will live forever. Here's a guide on how to do it yourself!

Quick & Easy method:

First, inscribe the asset you want onto Bitcoin Ordinals. If this is an NFT of an image/jpeg on Ethereum, download or copy that image and inscribe the exact same image onto Bitcoin. We make it easy by providing a quick & easy inscription tool.

Then when your inscription is confirmed onto the Bitcoin blockchain, head to that inscription on ordinals.com. (If you inscribed using our tool on ordinalhub you can just click "View Inscription" and then copy-paste the Inscription ID on the following page)

When you have pulled up the inscription on ordinals.com using the inscription ID you will see at the bottom of the page "ethereum teleburn address".

This is the address that you will send your NFT on Ethereum to. When you send your NFT on Ethereum to this address it will be burned forever and you will not be able to access it.

This "teleburn" address is derived from the inscription ID so it is provably linked to that inscription on Bitcoin.

Congratulations! You have migrated your NFT on Ethereum to Bitcoin, where it will live forever!

Teleburn using ord

First, you need to be running ord and a Bitcoin node. Follow the instructions on docs.ordinals.com in order to do that.

When in ord, run $ ord teleburn INSCRIPTION ID.

This will return:

Send your Eth NFT to the Ethereum Teleburn Address and you're all set!
